Eiffel
Study.

The Eiffel Tower is not used as decoration. Its hand-drawn structure becomes the graphic architecture of the garment: black lines define the body while fragments of blue, orange and purple move from painting into dress, socks and boots.

The painting began in a dream.

I saw myself painting it while I was asleep. When I woke up, I immediately went downstairs, took a canvas and painted what I had seen.

— DAVID BALILTY

The work did not begin as a fashion concept or as a planned study of the Eiffel Tower. The painting came first. Its black structural lines, open white space and fragments of colour later became a visual language that could move from canvas onto the body.

PAINTINGOn waking, the image was transferred directly onto canvas.

The source stays visible.

The seated image brings the original painting and the finished fashion language into the same frame. The relationship is immediate: tower, line, colour and silhouette read as one continuous visual system.

The look in motion.

The short film extends the presentation without adding another story. It shows the dress and matching boots as objects in space before the full look is read on the body.
